Maurine
Jones is Co-founder and Co- Director of the
Center for Health Equity,
Inc. Her area of expertise is in program
development, evaluation, and measurement.
She has worked most recently
in the area of racial disparity in health
outcomes with an emphasis
on community based health models that
address disparities in health
on a
policy, system, community, and individual
level. She has several
years of experience
working within communities, providing
technical assistance and training
in community health, needs assessments,
health problem analysis, program
development, monitoring and evaluation.
Currently as the PI of the
HRSA funded Healthy Start Project (Gadsden
Woman to Woman), her focus
is on
risk factors associated with prematurity
and infant mortality including
maternal nutrition, stress, maternal
infections, and other maternal
health factors in the preconceptional,
prenatal, and interconceptional
periods.
Dr. Jones received her Bachelor of
Science
in Psychology from Florida
State University, and her Master’s
Degree and PhD in Evaluation
and Measurement from Florida State
University.
